Verlon Roscoe Dinnel was born December 19, 1927, in Imperial, NE, to Earl and Lorena (Browning) Dinnel. As a young boy, Verlon attended Pioneer grade school near Enders, NE and later transitioned and graduated from Chase County High School, celebrating his 80th class reunion earlier this year. On November 13, 1946, Verlon married Lucille Ridlen at the Ridlen family home west of Wauneta and to this union four daughters were born: Colleen, Lanette, Ardith, and Brenda. Verlon and Lucille settled on a farm northeast of Enders, NE, where they raised their family and continued to reside until they retired in 2009 and moved to their present home in Imperial. Verlon loved the farm and he loved getting his hands dirty in the soil, the fresh smell of tilled soil was one of his favorites. Above all things, Verlon loved Jesus. He accepted the Lord at an early age and served him faithfully. He felt it was important to give back and spent many years serving on his church board of trustees, Enders grade school and Chase County High School Boards of education, as well as the Soil Conservation Board.
When Verlon was not working or donating his time, you could find him woodworking, traveling with Lucille or taking one of his children or grandchildren hunting. He enjoyed the tradition of hunting with his family and spending time outdoors.
