Toni Hapes
Toni Ann Hapes was born on November 27, 1945 to Floyd and Madeleine (Cramer) Gebhart in New Castle, Indiana. She attended Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School, New Castle, Indiana and graduated May 21, 1965.
Toni married Leonard “Lenny” Hapes at the Methodist Church in Merino, Colorado, on April 26, 1985. The couple first settled in Sterling, Colorado and later made their home in Imperial, Nebraska. Toni worked for 14 years at Artistic Woodworking of Imperial. She was also well known for her sewing and machine embroidery.
Toni passed away, at her Imperial home, on Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was 67 years of age.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: husband, Leonard Hapes of Imperial; daughter, Cheryl and husband, Mike Kline of Alamosa, CO; daughter, Wendy and husband, Kelly Trautwein of Alamosa, CO; brother, Jack and wife, Darlene Gebhart of Springport, IN; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held, 2:00 P.M. (MT), Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at St, Patrick’s Catholic Church of Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
No Visitation; Toni chose cremation.
A memorial has been established in Toni’s memory.
