Steven Lynn Wyss, age 68, of McCook, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
Steve was born on February 28, 1954, to parents Howard and Charlotte (Dailey) Wyss. Steve grew up on the family farm near Stratton where he loved to ride motorcycles, feed the chickens, and eat watermelon. His favorite meal was hamburgers and french fries. Steve was known to snatch candy and knew where everyone kept their stash.
Steve attended special training school in Cozad and later came to live at Southwest Area Training Services (SWATS) in McCook for 39 years. He had been living at Hillcrest Nursing Home since 2018 of which he loved and flourished.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Howard and Charlotte Wyss; maternal and paternal grandparents; brother-in-law, Larry Eden; and great-niece, Margaret Ann Eden.
Steve is survived by his sister, Dee Eden of McCook; nephew Matthew Eden and wife, Sheila, of McCook; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 5, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton, NE.
A memorial, In Steven’s memory, has been suggested to the Wyss Family for a future designation.
