Obituary

Sharon Mae (Snyder) Orrell, 75 was born July 31, 1950 to Pete Sr. and Lela (Wonderly) Snyder in Imperial, NE. Sharon passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Imperial Manor.

On February 11, 1966 she married William Pankonin in Imperial, NE. To this union, 4 children Donald, Sandy, Melinda and Kristie were born.

In September 1975 she married James Orrell and lived in Imperial, NE. She worked at TRW, Dayco hose plant in McCook, NE. Imperial Manor and offered childcare from her home in McCook, NE. as well as packaging cinnamon sticks for Harmons in her spare time.

Sharon loved being with her family. She enjoyed camping and fishing, crocheting, plastic canvas, word search puzzles, jig saw puzzles, Sudoku puzzles and reading western books. She loved to pick on people and was known as “Mom” to many.

She loved flowers and listening to music and dancing whenever she could. In her younger years, her uncles had a band. Some of her fondest memories were playing the tambourine on stage, so much she’d have bruises to show for it the next day.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary Snyder and her husbands.

She is survived by her son, Donald Pankonin of Benkelman, NE, daughters, Sandy Vandike of Imperial, NE, Melinda Pankonin of Garden City, KS, and Kristie Pankonin of Imperial, NE; her brothers, John Snyder and Pete Jr. (Bev) Snyder all of Imperial; sisters, Dee Richey of Imperial and Carol (Bob) Glassol of Landisburg, PA; grandchildren, Victoria (Shane) Tyson, Micheal Tyson, Tyler Willis, Brandon Struckmeyer, Philip (Kelsea) Pankonin, Kyle (Ariel) Vandike, Lauren (Matt) Banda, Christopher Pankonin and Bradley Pankonin; great grandchildren, McKayla, Caden, Arabella, Elliot, Emmalynn, Charotte, Wade, Cole, Tesslyn, Paislee, Benley, Bodey, Destiney (Eddie) Espinoza; great great grandchildren, Eddie Jr. and Ariel; and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Sharons life will be held on Friday, February 6 at 10:00 A.M. at Imperial Berean Church 1530 Broadway Street, Imperial, NE with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Sharon’s family for a designation later.
