Russell Frere, a longtime Benkelman resident, passed away Saturday morning, March 29th at his home in Benkelman. He was 69 years of age.   Survivors include:  His wife, Maryalice Frere of Benkelman Brother, Morris (Margaret) Frere of Athens, Georgia Sister, Margaret (John) Urbigkit of Cheyenne, Wyoming Brother, William Frere of Sheridan, Wyoming Sister-in-law, Susan (Eddie) Argo of Elberton, Georgia  Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. (MT), Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 at the Benkelman Community Building in Benkelman, Nebraska with Pastor David Davidson officiating. Full military honors will follow the services at the Community Building. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.  No visitation, Russell chose cremation.
