Obituary

Robert Paul Monteith was born August 1, 1957, in McCook, Nebraska, to Gertrude (Bopp) and John Hiram Monteith II. Paul grew up in Imperial, Nebraska, and he spent his whole life in the community, except for two years in college and two years working construction in the Denver area. Paul returned to the Champion area to farm for several years. For most of his adult years he was a self-employed tradesman.

Paul enjoyed hunting, photography and music. His real passion was for man’s best friend, “the dog”. He was especially dedicated to every dog he ever owned. Paul was never married and has no children. As a life-long bachelor, he lived life to the fullest and did it his way.

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” Henry David Thoreau
