Patsy “Pat” Elizabeth League passed away on July 14, 2026, at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman, NE. She was born on July 29, 1949, in Sacramento California. Pat’s life was an adventure. Sometimes it was hard to determine truth from fiction, Pat loved to tell a good story.

Throughout her life she held positions in a variety of industry. State Department Road crew, forklift operating, waitressing, was an airline attendant and eventually stepped into nursing care, where she found her calling.

In 1998 Pat began work at Wauneta Care and Therapy Center in Wauneta. Here she met lifelong friends and loved the work she was in. She was genuine and took exceptional care of patients. She was a dedicated and hardworking nurse’s aide.

In her free time, Pat loved woodworking, creating everything from name tags to Herby Huskers. She loved the cornhuskers and would cheer for them every chance she got. She loved to entertain and be around people. She just loved to chat and held a youthful spirit.

Pat loved her cats and she loved tending to her garden. She was a wonderful cook and made delicious fudge and potato salads and was always willing to share.

A graveside service to honor Pat’s life will be held Friday, July 17 at 2:00 P.M. (MT) at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Hamlet, NE with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating
