Nancy unexpectedly passed away at her home in Lakewood, Colorado at the age of 69. Nancy was born on May 6, 1950 in Imperial, Nebraska to Cecil and Selma (Ohmie) Gardner and was the youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Chase County High School in 1969 and just celebrated her 50th class reunion last year.
Since her arrival in Denver, Nancy was actively involved in the Timberline Tall Club. Nancy retired 9 years ago after 30 years of employment with The National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Nancy loved traveling and was always proud that she had visited all 50 states within the country. Nancy was enjoying her retirement with family and friends and very engaged with all her hobbies and interests. She loved working with arts and crafts and giving them to family and friends for many years. Nancy, recently went back to doing her favorite past time of drawing and painting.
Nancy was as selfless as a human can be, was unconditionally kind and affectionate, spoke optimistically, was perpetually positive, was quick to laugh and had cherished her golden retriever, Molly. Nancy was always one to go out of her way to make sure everyone got along.
Survivors include: her sister Colleen (Herb) Lynch of Lakewood, Colorado; niece, Susie (Gil) Jones of Westminster, Colorado; nephew Ron (Pam) Gardner of Laporte, Colorado; nephew Dwight (Lori) Gardner of Wellington, Colorado; niece Sandy (Mike) Coon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephew Rich (Becky) Houghton of Littleton, Colorado; nephew Herby (Elizabeth) Lynch of Denver, Colorado; nephew Matt (Jamie) Lynch of Lakewood, Colorado; brother-in-law, Jim Cunningham and numerous great nephews and nieces.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dean and Don Gardner and sisters Carol Cunningham and Patty Houghton.
Nancy had chosen cremation and a memorial service will be held later due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). An inurnment will be held later in Imperial, Nebraska.
