Michael James Schoenfelder was born January 12, 1949, at Rochester, Minnesota, to Donald V. and Elizabeth M. (Simmons) Scheonfelder, the second of four boys. As a young man he attended St. Francis Elementary School and Lourdes High School both in Rochester, graduating in 1967. Mike enlisted into the U.S. Air Force soon after high school graduation and served until 1971 including service in the Vietnam War.
Mike married Patricia Ellen Moreland on April 10, 1981, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and to this union two daughters were born, Jamie and Megan. The couple settled in Denver, CO, for several years, where Mike was employed as a factory representative for a major chemical company. They moved to Atlanta, Ga, in 1983, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1993. Mike continued working in sales for large equipment company. He later retired from sales, and began his second career as an over the road truck driver. Mike and Pat moved to Imperial, Nebraska, in June of 2008, and Mike was employed at the Frenchman Valley Coop for several years. Mike passed away Friday afternoon, February 14, 2014, at his home in Imperial .He was 65 years of age.
Mike enjoyed being out-of-doors, and loved to fish especially trying his hand at catching Muskie.

Survivors Include: Mother: Elizabeth Thompson and husband, Arnold, of Rochester, MN Wife: Patricia of Imperial. NE Daughters: Jamie Schoenfelder of Eau Claire, WI Megan Schoenfelder of North Platte, NE Granddaughter: Miklyn Schoenfelder of North Platte, NE Brothers: Gary Schoenfelder of Rochester, MN Greg Schoenfelder and wife, Gwen, of Rochester, MN Numerous local Brothers and Sisters-In-Law, Nieces and Nephews
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning, February 19th, 2014, 10:30 A.M. at the Crossroads Wesleyan Church, Imperial, Nebraska, with Pastor Phil Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 18th, 2014, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Imperial.
