Junior D. Reeder   Junior Duane Reeder was born December 10, 1937, to William T. and Mary W. (Schumann) in Hall County, Nebraska, near Wood River. As a young man, Junior attended school in Wood River, NE, graduating from Wood River High School in 1955.He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until January 1956.  Junior married Shirley Ann Zastrow on August 3, 1973 in Grand Island, NE. The couple settled in Grand Island, NE, for a short time before moving to Imperial, NE in 1976. Junior and Shirley made their home in Imperial and Junior was employed at the Chase County Hospital in the Maintenance Department. The couple also traveled for Imperial County Ford transporting automobiles. Junior was very active in the Imperial Community serving on the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department, the NSVFA, Chief Assistant of the EMS, CISM Troop D, and the Chase County Emergency Management Team. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Imperial Eagles, the Imperial V.F.W., and was an acting member of the Imperial City Council. His spare time, Junior enjoyed woodworking, and traveling the State of Nebraska to functions of the Nebraska State Fireman’s Association.  Junior passed away early Thursday morning, March 27, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. He was 76 years of age. Survivors include:Wife: Shirley of Imperial, NE Daughter: Debra Reeder of Austin, TX Son: Duane Reeder and wife, Teresa, of Omaha, NE Son: Lynn Reeder and wife, Stacy, of Manhattan, KS Daughter: Lori Burroughs and husband, Shawn, of Sumter, SC Daughter: Vicki Bradley and husband, Steve, of Grand Island, NE Son: Joe West, of Denver, Co. Daughter: Lori Rowley, and husband, Bill, of Alliance, NE Son: Val Dean West and wife, Joan, of Beaver Crossing, NE 16 Grandchildren 10 Great-Grandchildren 1 Great-Great-Grandchild Brother: Archie Reeder and wife, Mary, of Sun City, AZ Numerous Nieces and Nephews Junior was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Patricia Hoover, granddaughter; April Reeder, three brothers; Billy, Marvin, Ralph, and sisters; Viola Whitten and Mary Barker. Memorial services will be held Saturday morning, March 29th, 2014, 10:30 A.M. with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.  No Visitation, Junior chose cremation  In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Junior’s memory.  On Line condolences can be left at liewerfuneralhome.com
