Joeanna Kay Jaeger, born to Orville and Betty (Holbeck) Green on March 27, 1965, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in her home in Imperial, Nebraska.
Joeanna was the youngest child of Orville and Betty, and the baby sister to her brothers, Russel and Orv. Joeanna graduated from Chase County High School in 1983 and went on to pursue higher education at North Platte, where she earned a business degree. She later moved to Denver, Colorado, where she married her high school sweetheart, Mike Jaeger. The two were married for 34 years and together raised two daughters, Miranda and Shelby.
During her years in Colorado, Joeanna thrived as a dedicated mother and wife. She loved spending time with her family and embraced every opportunity for adventure. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, shopping, and visiting Estes Park. Whether following her daughters’ sports or celebrating special moments, Joeanna made every day meaningful. Every holiday and birthday was made special—especially Christmas. The traditions she created will be lovingly carried on for generations.
Joeanna had a longtime career in banking, where she became known for her commitment, excellence, and strong work ethic. She had an amazing ability to connect with people and serve their needs.
In 2013, Joeanna returned to Imperial, Nebraska, to be closer to her daughters and to embrace small-town life once again. She enjoyed the simplicity of country living and continued demonstrating her incredible work ethic through many different jobs, eventually concluding her professional journey at the courthouse.
Outside of work, Joeanna was passionate about spending time with her family and enjoying her favorite pastimes—reading, puzzles, walking by the lake, and cheering on the Denver Broncos. But most of all, her heart belonged to her grandchildren, Cohen, Emery, and Theo. Time spent with them brought her immense joy—whether it was singing songs, crafting, or simply spoiling them with love. They were truly the light of her life.
Joeanna is survived by her longtime former spouse, Mike Jaeger; her daughters, Miranda (Heath) Vrbas and Shelby (Landon) Jutten; and her cherished grandchildren, Cohen Vrbas, Emery Vrbas, and Theo Jutten. She is also survived by her brothers, Orville (Pam) Green and Russel (Jeanie) Green as well her nephew, Lance Green, nieces Amy Green, Vanessa (Danny) Terryberry and great nephews, Trace and Kye Terryberry.
Joeanna will be remembered for her loving heart and unwavering dedication to her family. Her faith in Jesus gives us comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones and held in the arms of her Savior. Her legacy lives on through the lives of her girls, her grandchildren, and the traditions she inspired.
