Obituary

Gwendoline Ruth Springer passed away at her home surrounded by family in the early morning hours of November 1, 2026. Gwen was born on February 2, 1974, in Cozad, NE to Gerald “Gil” and Alice (Prentice) Springer.

Gwen graduated from Mullen High School in 1992 and went on to attend college at Northeastern Junior College and later graduated from University of Wyoming in 1996 with a degree in Ag Business. 1996 was a year of tremendous change for Gwen. After the birth of her daughter, Bailey, Gwen accepted a full-time position with Frenchman Valley Coop and relocated to Imperial, NE. Gwen was thrilled to accept this opportunity and would go on to spend her entire working career with FVC. Holding many titles through the years, Gwen ended her work career as a Senior Agronomy Accountant. Gwen could do anything. Whether it was mixing chemicals, sweeping floors, finding parts or meeting customers in the field, Gwen could do it all.

When she wasn’t working, Gwen loved to watch the Huskers, she especially enjoyed Husker Volleyball. She was a wonderful photographer, spent time creating works of art with glass etching. She created custom wood flowers, could burn immersive images into wood and create wood burn art. She spent time building Legos, listening to music, dancing, collected windmills and images of windmills and will be missed for her wonderful prime rib dinners.

When Gwen wasn’t working or creating art, she could be found volunteering and serving as banquet chair for Southwestern Nebraska Pheasants Forever.

Gwendoline is survived by her daughter, Bailey (Cody), her mother, Alice; brother, Shawn (Katrina); two grandchildren, Lacie and Lee Randall; her nephew, Brady (Lexi) Springer; niece, Kaylee (Grant) Jensen; great nephew, Cooper Springer; and great niece, Winnie Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gil.

A celebration of life has been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. (MT) Monday, November 9th at the Nutrien building, (Chase County fairgrounds) with Greg Boller officiating. It was Gwen’s request that everyone wear their favorite Huskers gear or come in casual attire.

Memorial contributions may be made to imperial Fire and EMS, Angels Care Hospice, or Callahan Cancer Center of North Platte, NE
