Obituary

Curtis W. Garrison, 56, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2026, in Ogallala, Nebraska.

Curtis was born in Denver, CO on November 14, 1969, to parents Danny and Dorene Mae (Clay) Garrison. Curtis graduated from Imperial High School in 1988.

Curtis selflessly enlisted into the Army on January 27, 1989. During his time in the Army, he served in the Military Police and was honorably discharged on November 27, 1991.

Curtis took great pride in maintaining his yard. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Curtis cherished his loyal companion, Zeus, whom he loved and cared for dearly.

Curtis worked at the Ogallala Opportunity Center where he supported and served others. He was a member of Hamlet Union Church.

Curtis will be remembered for being a kindhearted person, turning strangers into friends, and always willing to lend a hand.

Those left to celebrate Curtis’ life are his mother, Dorene Garrison of Imperial, NE; children, Jordan (Nate) Maher of Avon Park, FL and Julie Garrison of Omaha, NE; partner, Erica Paulson of Grant, NE and her children: Kylie (James) Martin of McCook, NE and son Maverick, Sierra (Trae) Koetter of McCook, NE and son Bellamy, and Hunter Paulson of McCook, NE; sister-in-law Deb Garrison of Elkhorn, NE; and numerous friends and extended family.

Curtis is preceded in death by his father, Dan Garrison; brothers, Danny Garrison Jr and Kevin Garrison; and sisters, Petra Garrison and Deb Andahl.
