Obituary

Arlene Marie Eskew, born on June 13, 1931, in Haigler, Nebraska to Bruce and Esther (Young) Robb, peacefully passed away on February 28, 2026, in Imperial, Nebraska. A loving wife and dedicated homemaker, Arlene's life was a tapestry woven with care for her family and friends.

Arlene grew up in southwestern Chase County and graduated from Imperial High School class of 1949. Throughout her life, she exhibited a deep sense of purpose and dedication, not only as a mother but also as a vital part of her local community. She volunteered her time at the Imperial Senior Center and took on the role of a 4H leader, serving as an inspiring figure to countless youth in her area. Additionally, her involvement with the Home Extension Club showcased her passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others.

Her legacy extends beyond her community service; she possessed an extraordinary love for birds, nurturing a variety of avian species including pheasants, geese, turkeys, lovebirds, parakeets, and peacocks. Arlene's creativity flourished through her unique talent for crafting "tiffany eggs," exquisite jewelry made from eggshells, as well as her passion for gardening, where she cultivated both vegetables and stunning flower displays.

In her home, Arlene was a culinary master, renowned for her ability to transform leftovers into gourmet meals, ensuring her family always enjoyed nourishing and delightful dishes. Her talents extended to crafting and sewing, where she notably created a beautiful prom dress for her daughter, Robin. Additionally, she embraced the joys of raising miniature ponies and was always willing to lend a helping hand around the farm.

Arlene is survived by her beloved sons, Bill (Kristy), Bob, Doug (Chelsea); her daughter, Robin; her grandchildren, Brian, Stefanie, Amy, Debra, Aaron, Amber, Ashley, Andrew, Josh and Deanna; 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard “Tex” Eskew; her son, Greg; daughters-in-law, Sue and Kaye; as well as her granddaughter, Heather Smith, and grandson, Christopher.

Arlene's memory will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Liewer Funeral Home, 841 Court Street Imperial. A funeral service honoring her life will be held Thursday, March 5, at 10:00 AM at the Imperial Methodist Church, 420 Holland Street, with Rolle Walker and Bill Bauerle officiating.
