Alvina Pearl Breese

February 11, 1938 — May 22, 2017

Alvina Pearl Breese was born on February 11, 1938 to James “Ben” Warren and Pearl (Grahm) Myers on the family farm near Hamlet, Nebraska. She attended school in Palisade from kindergarten to the tenth grade and went on to finish school in Wauneta where she graduated from high school.

She was united in marriage to Dallis Breese on September 3, 1958 at Alvina’s family home just north of Wauneta. The couple lived in Wauneta until 1961 when the moved to Powell, Wyoming and then Newport News, Virginia in 1963 while Dallis was in the service. The couple returned home to Wauneta in 1964 and has lived there ever since.

Alvina worked at the nursing home in Wauneta, babysat and cleaned housed until her declining health made it too difficult. She was a member of lady’s bowling league and mixed bowling league. Alvina enjoyed fishing, collecting angels and spending time with her family. She was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren.

Alvina passed away Monday morning, May 22, 2017 at the Sunrise Heights Nursing Home in Wauneta. She was 79 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother and father; sister, Betty Weston; brothers, Bill Baker and Wesley Myers; sisters-in-law, Gloria Baker, Linda Myers and Melvina Hockley; and a brother-in-law, Harold Breese.

Survivors include:
Husband, Dallis Breese of Wauneta
Son, Jerry Spencer and wife, Marilyn of Chapman, Kansas
Daughter, Brenda Broughton and husband, Roland of Sunol, Nebraska
Granddaughters: Beck Spencer of Buckeye, Kansas; Vicky Spencer of Bethel, Alaska; Tracy Parker and husband, Shane of Kodiak, Alaska; and Melody Hardesty and husband, Scott of Junction City, Kansas
Grandsons: Roland “Trey”, Spencer, and Tavin Broughton of Sunol, Nebraska
Great-grandchildren: Drew Nquyen and Paige Spencer of Buckeye, Kansas; Isaac and Kaleb Parker of Kodiak, Alaska; Talissa Hardesty, Austin Hardesty, Rosa Williams, Ethan Hardesty, Lillian Woods and Mya Hardesty of Junction City, Kansas.

Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. (MT), Friday, May 26, 2017 at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta with Pastor Gary Hunt officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home in Wauneta at 10:00 A.M. (MT) to process to the cemetery on the River Road.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon, May 25, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Wauneta.

A Memorial has been established in Alvina’s Memory.
