TRUDY GORSUCH
Trudy Elaine Gorsuch was born July 11, 1948, to Bonnie Irene (Smith) and Eldon Grantham in McCook, Nebraska. After a lengthy illness, she departed this life on February 23, 2011, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant, Nebraska.
After graduating from high school in Greeley, Colorado, Trudy moved to McCook, Nebraska, where she met and married Gerhard (Gary) Knehans. To this union three children were born, Michael, Gary, and Shelly. Trudy moved back to Imperial in 1981. In 1983, she met and married the love of her life, Carl Gorsuch, who had twin sons, Quincy and Quinton, whom she raised and loved as her own. Trudy was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial on April 9, 1995.
Trudy loved children and operated a Day Care most of her life. After retiring from her day care business in 2009, Trudy and Carl moved to her grandparent’s farm home east of Imperial. With Trudy’s creative interior design skills and Carl’s carpentry skills they remodeled the home of her grandparents where her fondest childhood memories were made.
Trudy dearly loved her 9 grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and always had lots of hugs and kisses. Her hobbies included baking (especially pies) gardening, knitting and crocheting, interior decorating, camping, hunting and fishing.
Trudy was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Grantham and her grandparents Bryan and Ethel Smith. Survivors Include: Husband: Carl of Imperial, NE Son: Michael Knehans of Garden City, KS Son: Gary Knehans and wife Twila of Hastings, NE Daughter: Shelly Knehans of Imperial, NE Son: Quincy Gorsuch of Holdrege, NE Son: Quinton Gorsuch and wife Shannon of McPherson, KS Mother and Step-father: Bonnie and Raymond Schultz of Imperial, NE Brother: Calvin Grantham and wife Paula of Raton, NM 9 Grandchildren
Funeral Services for Trudy Gorsuch will be held Monday morning, February 28, 2011, 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE
A memorial has been established to Perkins County Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
