TIM TYERMAN
Timothy William Tyerman, 64, lifelong resident of Chase County, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Tim had battled a host of health problems since 2012 but he was tough. He was a fighter; made stronger by his constant companion and caregiver, Stephanie, who never left his side. He braved a hip replacement and infections that followed. He beat a blood disorder. He survived sepsis. He fought kidney disease. He underwent dialysis for two years; finally undergoing a kidney transplant in March 2016. This time it was cancer. He was ready to fight again but he was called Home. He and his loved ones will forever be grateful for the additional two years of life he gained thanks to the gift of a donor kidney.
Tim was born in Imperial, NE on September 18, 1953 to William, “Pace”, and Carol (Shrum) Tyerman. Tim graduated from Chase County High School with the class of 1972. On November 10, 1974, Tim and Lana Draper were united in marriage. They were blessed with two children, Amanda and Luke. Tim spent the last 22 years of his life with his soul mate and best friend, Stephanie Noyes.
Tim devoted his life to working on the family farm with his parents and his son, Luke. He and Steph were a team and worked side by side on the farm for the 22 years they were together. They enjoyed their daily morning pre-chores coffee with Pace and Carol in the house up on the hill until Pace passed away in 2007 and Carol moved to Imperial in 2013. Tim and Steph lovingly cared for both Pace and Carol as their health failed so Pace and Carol could remain on the farm/at home in their final years.
Tim and Steph were animal lovers and always tending to bucket calves or other animals needing care while surrounded by their beloved dogs. The running joke was you couldn’t have Tim and Steph dog sit because you’d never get your dogs back! You could trust though that they would be well loved by their new humans.
For many years, Tim and Steph would eagerly await the Chase County Fair where they would operate the Dippin’ Dots stand. They loved how it brought family and friends together and enjoyed the time slinging Dippin’ Dots and catching up with loved ones.
Tim was a gambling man and was always up for a good game of poker with his card playing buddies. Whether it be Champion Men’s Club, a local smoker, Deadwood, Vegas or Blackhawk, playing cards was a favorite pastime for Tim.
Tim loved reading, had a heck of a memory and possessed a talent for storytelling. He had a great sense of humor and could always make others laugh.
Tim loved his family and was proud of his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed taking his grandkids for rides in the Bobcat, practicing their driving skills on the farm, spending time with them at Champion Lake, or taking them to feed the bottle calves.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, William and Gladys Shrum; grandparents; William and Grace Tyerman; uncles, Carl Lutz and Gene Tyerman and aunts, Alice and Margaret Tyerman.
Survivors include soul mate, Stephanie Noyes, of Champion; daughter, Amanda (Casey)Tyerman-Harper of Lincoln, NE and children, Mikayla, Hudson, Greyson, Ian and Liam; son, Luke (Allison) Tyerman and children, Mason and Conner; Jason (Ashleigh) Noyes and children Alexa, Landon, Jace and Jagger of Grant, NE and Leah (Nick) Spady and Mason of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Shelly (Jack) Geiser of Bellevue, NE; aunts, Jackie Martin and Jean (Carl) Lutz, both of Benkelman, NE; former brother-in-law, Geoff (Elaine) Clark; nieces, Elizabeth (Marten) Clark Wessel of Sweden and Haley Clark Larson of Bellevue; his beloved dogs, Nova, Jupiter, and Louie; and many dear cousins and friends.
