    June 3, 1942 - January 12, 2019

    Sharon Buffington On June 3, 1942, Sharon Kay Hewitt was born at home in Palisade, NE, to Clarence H. and Anna E. (Cunningham) Hewitt. Sharon grew up and attended school in the Wauneta, NE, area, graduating from Wauneta High School, in 1961. She then went on to study at the McCook Beauty Academy. Sharon found the love of her life in William Kent Buffington and they were married on June 16th, 1963, in Wauneta. Together they settled and began their life together on the farm, south of Wauneta, where they resided for 33 years. The couple then moved into town, and made Wauneta their home for 22 years. Together they had four girls and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon loved to cook and was gifted with crafts. A natural hostess, Sharon was able to whip a five course meal out of pork and beans, jello, and a half tube of sausage. Sharon passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial, NE. She was 76 years of age. Sharon was proceeded in death by her father; Clarence Hewitt, mother; Anna Hewitt, brothers; Boyd Hewitt, Harold Hewitt, Stanley Hewitt, Eugene Hewitt, and Gary Hewitt, Brother-in-law; Keith Buffington, Father-in-law; William Buffington, Mother-in-law; Alvina Buffington. Sharon is survived by her husband Kent Buffington, daughters; Kendal Cahoj (James) of McDonald,KS, Milissa Scow(Jeff) of Shelby,NE, Angela Emerson (Barry) of Omaha,NE,and Megan Wiemers(TJ) of McCook, NE. grandchildren; Jayden (Jesse) Cahoj, Jared(Jodie) Cahoj, Jordan Scow, Dayne Scow, Bayle Scow, Angela Clair Emerson, Blaine Emerson, Noah Emerson, Zion Emerson, Isaiah Wiemers, Gracelyn Wiemers, four great - grandchildren and counting. Brothers: Fred Hewitt of North Platte, NE Don Hewitt and wife, Jan, of Holyoke, CO Neldon Hewitt of Kent, WA Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning, January 15th, 2019, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the Christian Faith Outreach Church of Imperial, NE, with Pastor JR Kline officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, January 14, 2019, 2:00-6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time)at the funeral home in Wauneta.
