ROD FULLER
Rodney G. Fuller was born March 18, 1944 to Floyd and Ardis (Krueger) Fuller of Grant, Nebraska. He graduated from Perkins County High School in 1962 and married Jeanie Stumpf of Grant in 1964 and they had two beautiful children, Debra Kay and Bryan Todd. The couple separated in 1980. In 1992 he met Donna Rufenacht of Imperial. They fell in love and were married in 2002. The couple lived together in a house overlooking Enders Lake.
Rod raised cattle, corn and alfalfa for many years at “Fuller Farms” near Grant. He and Donna owned an antique store in Imperial called Class Act, and he also owned a business selling collectible firearms. Rod was an avid collector of western artifacts and artwork. He and Donna also enjoyed giving gifts to a local family in need each Christmas. He was a proud supporter of our veterans and flew a large American flag in his front yard. One of the highlights of Rod’s life was taking his grandson Jacob on an educational trip each summer. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as his many friends.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Ardis and Floyd; son, Bryan; and wife, Donna.
He is survived by ex-wife, Jeanie Cornelius of Grant; daughter, Deb and son-in-law, Tom Roemmich of Grand Island; stepson, Sandy Rufenacht and his family of Denver, Colorado; stepson, Tracy Rufenacht and his family of Colorado Springs, Colorado; step-grandchildren: Ryan and Shay Roemmich of Baltimore, Maryland and Reid Roemmich of York, Nebraska; granddaughter, Megan Deaver of Kearney, Nebraska and grandson, Jacob Deaver of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Rod Fuller will be remembered for his generosity, his wit, and his great sense of humor. He died March 31, 2015 surrounded by family in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was 71 years of age. He was a true class act to the end.
Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon, April 4th, 2015, 2:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the Imperial Berean Church of Imperial, with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE.
A memorial has been established in Rod’s memory.
