Orville "BiggO" Wayne Green
June 7, 1929 — January 5, 2014
Orville Wayne Green was born June 7th, 1929, at LaSalle, Colorado, to Edgar A. and Eliza E. (Cady) Green. “BiggO” as he was affectionately known, grew up and attended school in LaSalle graduating from the eighth grade in 1943. He married Betty Holbeck and to this union three children were born: Russell, Orv, and Joeanna. They made their home and farmed in Ft. Morgan, Colorado area.
After Betty’s death, BiggO married Janie Shauntz and to this union a son was born; Brian. They continued to live in the Ft. Morgan area until the 1970’s when Orville moved to Imperial, Nebraska.
BiggO continued to farm in Imperial area before building a trucking firm along with owning and operating the T-Junction restaurant and store. He later married Marvis Kirby.
Orville enjoyed working, gambling, traveling, baseball, playing pool, and going for drives. He enjoyed seeing his grandkids and especially loved seeing twin Great-Grandsons, Kye and Trace.
BiggO passed away Sunday afternoon, January 5, 2013, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home, Imperial. He was 84 years of age.
Survivors Include: Son: Russell and Wife, Jeannie, of Ft. Morgan, CO Son: Orv and wife, Pam, of Imperial, NE Daughter: Joeanna Jaeger and Husband, Mike, of Imperial, NE Son: Brian of Ft. Morgan, CO 5 Grandchildren 4 Great-Grandchildren Brother: Ed Green of Arkansas Sister: Betty Andree of California
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Betty, Janie, and Marvis, Brother; Clyde, Sisters; Edna, Thelma, Jewell, Gladys, and Mae.
Funeral Services for Orville Green will be held Friday morning, January 10th, 10:00 A.M. at the Imperial Berean Church, Imperial, with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon, January 9th, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Imperial. Orville’s casket will be closed for services on Friday.
