Lynetta Wine

Lynetta Rae (Bley) Wine of Wauneta, Nebraska, died April 12, 2016, at Sunrise Heights, Wauneta, Nebraska, at age 64, after a battle with cancer. She was born on January 21, 1952, at Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland, to Raymond and Lois (Harrison) Bley.

Lynetta grew up on the family farm, south of Wauneta, participating in the usual farm activities with her parents and brother, Lloyd. She attended Eden Grade School in the country, not far from the farm, and graduated there from the 8th grade. She then attended and graduated from Wauneta High School in 1969.

Lynetta attended several colleges after high school, including Miltonvale Wesleyan College in Miltonvale, Kansas, where she received her AA degree in 1971; Kansas City College & Bible School, where she received a BA degree in 1973; and Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Lynetta married James A. McNab II on December 22, 1973, and to this union James A. McNab III was born in 1977. The couple moved to Florida and during this time Lynetta taught school, worked with James in construction and worked as a secretary. When marital difficulties arose, Lynetta moved back to southwest Nebraska, where she taught math for a year at Dundy County High School. Subsequent to the dissolution of her marriage to James McNab II, Lynetta married Arlan Wine on October 23, 1982, in Enders, Nebraska, and to this union Jeralyn Wine was born. The couple lived in McCook, rural Chase County and then settled in Wauneta from 1992 until Lynetta’s death.

Lynetta taught music at Victory Christian Academy in McCook, managed McCook Townhouse for a year, and for many years helped her husband as a legal secretary. She was also an enthusiastic and talented musician, able to play piano, organ, oboe, guitar, mandolin and accordion. For many years she accompanied a local men’s gospel quartet and also was the accompanist for the McCook College Chorus for a year. This task brought the special opportunity to go to England with the chorus and she was joined by her husband, who sang with the chorus on the tour.
