Lorna J Kunnemann

Lorna Jean Draper Kunnemann, 77 of Imperial, Nebraska, went home to Jesus on March 17th 2021 in Denver, Colorado.
Lorna was born in Imperial, Nebraska, on May 13th, 1943, to Lorin and Velma (Cooper) Draper. Lorna grew up in the Chase County Community along with her brother Marv. She attended grade school at District 66. She went on to attend Chase County Community High School where she was heavily involved in the spirit club as a cheerleader. She graduated in 1961.
Lorna was united in Holy Matrimony to Paul Kunnemann on December 8, 1962, at Zion Evangelical Church in Imperial. This union was blessed with three daughters: Sherri Burke of Imperial, Nebraska, Cyndi and husband John Langenfeld of Centennial, Colorado, and Bobbi and Husband Eric Dittler of Imperial, Nebraska.
Lorna’s most cherished blessings were her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Her Grandchildren include Joshua Burke and Wife Courtney, Jaclyn and Husband Garrett Paisley, Jakob Burke and fiancé Alex, Coby Langenfeld, Cory Langenfeld, Katie Langenfeld, and Chloe Dittler. Her seven Great Grand Children include Kendra, Kristopher, and Kaci Burke; Krayton, Knox, Koy, and Kollins Paisley.
Lorna worked at the Social Service Department right out of High school then went on to work at Adams Drug Store. The majority of her professional career was spent at Chase County Community Hospital. When she retired, she had provided almost 30 years of service.
Lorna was an active member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years.
She was also involved as a leader in 4-H with her three daughters. She volunteered at the Senior Center with Meals on Wheels and was also a member of the Red Hatters Club.
Lorna had many joys in life. She and her husband Paul liked going dancing, attending the stock show, horse shows, the fair/playing bingo, gambling, and camping with her children and great-grandchildren. They enjoyed boating, fishing, picnics, card parties and clubs, playing and teaching all of her children and grandchildren how to play cards, coffee with her friends, and baking and cooking with her family. Her many hobbies included gardening, reading, bible study, ceramics, cake decorating, and sewing for her family. She was the biggest Husker Fan! Lorna’s most cherished thing to do was to attend all of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities
Funeral Services for Lorna Kunnemann will be held Thursday morning, March 25, 2021, 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial, with Pastor David Kahle officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon, March 24, 2021, 2:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial in Lorna’s memory has been suggested to the Kunnemann family for a future scholarship fund. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is interested in attending college in the healthcare fields.
