Leonel Ruperto Torres was born March 27, 1943, in Santo Tomas, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Gabriel Torres and Inez Arreola. He grew up and attended school in Mexico.
Leonel married Lucinda Marquez on September 18, 1986, In Ignacio Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico. The couple settled in several communities in Mexico, before moving to Winslow, Arizona. They then made their home in Imperial, Nebraska.
Leonel was a landscaper by trade and owned and operated his own landscaping business. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, dancing, singing, and he especially, loved being with his family and friends.
Leonel passed away October 15, 2020, at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Ne. He was 77 years of age.

Brother: Pascual Torres and wife, Virginia Benally, of Winslow, AZ
Grand-Children: Michelle, Norma, Monique, Lionel, Kristen, Desiree, Manuel Jr., Jacob,
James, Sophia, and Asiel.
Great-Grandchildren: Jessiah, Jaylene, Jaxon, Julian, Jason, Aiden, Darlene, Jesus Jose, Lilian, Lauren, Aileen, Ezikiel, Zechariah, Erin, and Kamila.
Leonel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Enrique Torres, Roberto Torres, sisters; Yolanda Torres and Carolina Torres.
A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday morning, October 20, 2020 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial, NE, with Father Lothar Gilde officiating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2020. 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial.

A Rosary was recited Monday evening, October 19, 2020, 7:00 P.M. at the St Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial.
A memorial has been established to the Torres Family for a future designation.
