JIM NEEDHAM
Jimmie Elsworth Needham was born July 16, 1931, to Jessie and Hazel (Stivers) Needham in rural Imperial, Nebraska. As a youngster, Jim attended country grade school. Jim served in the U.S .Army during the Korean War serving from December of 1951 through February of 1954.
Jim married Wanda Rose Stevenson just before being inducted into the Military on December 1, 1951. They lived in Palisade, Nebraska, after Jim’s service time. They then moved to Imperial, Nebraska, where Jim began his long career with the Nebraska Department of Roads.
Jim and Wanda adopted two daughters, Debra and Linda, who they raised in Imperial. Jim loved to mechanic, and worked on all kinds of cars.
Wanda passed away in November of 1994 and Jim remarried Esther Mae Offner on July 3, 1998 in Imperial, where the couple settled before moving to Cambridge, Nebraska.
Jim passed away Friday morning, December 14, 2012, at the Cambridge Manor Nursing Home in Cambridge, NE. He was 81 years of age.
Survivors Include: Daughters: Linda Liebhart and Husband, Ron, of Imperial, NE Debra Simms, of Oklahoma City, OK Step-Daughter: Charlene Young, of Cambridge, NE Step-Son: Clarence Offner and Wife, Ginger, of Palm Bay, FL
4 Grandchildren: Preston, Benjamin, April and Kelly.
6 Step-Grandchildren: Jeff, Chris, Devin, Stephanie, Sarah, and Lisa
11 Great-Grandchildren: Alexis Kalinksi, Ashley, Alexis Sundquist, Ethan, Alaina, Kayleigh, Desiree, Corey, Kristian, Jayden and Kayelynn
8 Step-Great-Grandchildren: Steven, Kenneth, Mathew, Makayla, Klayton, Kailee, Kelsey, and Conner.
Brother: Harry Needham and wife, Alice, of Sidney, NE
Jim was preceded in death by his Parents, Wives, Wanda and Esther, Brother; Merlin Needham, and Sister-In-law: Ruth Needham.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2012, 1:30P.M.(MT) at Liewer Funeral Home, Imperial, with Rev. John Enbrecht officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE.
Visitation will be held Tuesday morning, December 18th, 2012 starting at 9:00 A.M. (MT) until service time at the funeral home in Imperial.
