James "Jim" Andrew

James Martin Andrew, age 91, of Palisade, NE, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at his residence in Palisade.
James (Jim) was born August 8, 1930, in Hitchcock County, Palisade, NE, to Francis and Mildred Andrew. Jim was one of five children raised in Palisade where he attended school. Jim was a Korean Veteran serving in the US Air Force receiving an honorable discharge November 24, 1953.
Jim and Pearl Andrew were married on June 17, 1967, and returned to the Palisade area where they made their home. Jim worked many years and retired from the Wauneta Coop and also owned and operated the Palisade Café. Jim was active in the Palisade Chapter of the VFW and was a life long member.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife Pearl; brother Ivan; sisters Sharon Andrew and Karen Steinbeck and daughters Rose Christner and Kathy Hamilton.
Those left to celebrate Jim’s life include his children: Boyd (Jacki) Andrew of Englewood, FL, Charles (Deb) Andrew of Wauneta, and Sharon (Tom) Miller of Wauneta; brother Albert (Jeanette) Andrew of North Platte, NE; sons-in-law Doug Hamilton of Alliance, NE and Jamie Christner of Palisade, NE; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.
Graveside services for Jim will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, 11:00 a.m. (MT), at the Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta, NE, with full military honors. Loran Wach officiating.
A memorial has been established in Jim’s memory to the Palisade City Park Development Fund.
