Harold “Peco” Anderson
Harold “Peco” Anderson was born August 22, 1940, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Andrew F. and Verna L. (Samuelson) Anderson. Harold’s father nicknamed him “Peco” from the very beginning. Peco was raised in the Wauneta and Hayes Center, Nebraska areas his whole life, with the exception of living several years in the Colorado Mountains near Guff. Colorado.
Peco graduated from Wauneta High School in 1958. On February 13th, 1960, Peco married Doretta McBride and to this union two sons were born: Andrew R. and Hugh L.
Peco was employed by the Wauneta Coop Oil for forty years, 20 years as shop foreman and 10 years as the manager. He was a big Nebraska Football fan.
Peco passed away Saturday Evening, January 26, 2013 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 72 years old.
Survivors Include: Wife: Doretta of Wauneta Son: Hugh Anderson and wife, Nancy, of Benkelman, NE 3 Grandsons: Benjamin and Joshua Anderson, Zachary and wife, Kristen Kuhns Great-Grandchildren: Andrew R. and Lillian Brother: Ted Anderson of Wauneta, NE Sisters-In-Law: Madolyn Morris and husband, Bob, of North Glenn, CO Colleen Garton and husband, Ben, of Windsor, CO Brothers-In-Law: Gary “Butch” Doetker of Wauneta, NE Bob McBride, of Wauneta, NE Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Funeral Services were held 10:30 a.m. (MT), Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013 at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta, NE with Pastor Bonnie McCord officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
Visitation was held from 2-6- p.m. (MT), Tuesday afternoon January 29, 2013 at the Funeral Home in Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in Peco’s Memory.
