Fern Browning
Fern Marie Browning was born March 18, 1921, in Imperial, Nebraska, to the proud parents of Edgar and Sarah (Caulk) Hine. Fern was the youngest of three daughters. As a young girl she grew up and attended school in Imperial graduating from Chase County High School. At the age of twenty, Fern married Lloyd Oliver Browning on November 26, 1941, in Wauneta, Nebraska, and to this union two children were born: Joyce and Alvin. Fern and Lloyd settled on a farm Southeast of Holyoke, where they lived for a short time. Lloyd soon began his career in construction, which took the couple to the State of Colorado where they lived for many years. Fern and Lloyd retired in 1976, and made their home in Venango. Fern passed away Friday Morning, December 17, 2010, at the Perkins County Hospital, Grant, NE. She was 89 years of age.
Fern and Lloyd loved to travel and spent 18 winters in Arizona. She loved camping, sewing, crocheting, and attended the Venango Community Church.
Survivors Include: Daughter: Joyce Batty and Husband, Paul, of Venango, NE Son: Alvin Browning and wife, Jean, of Colorado Springs, CO. 7 Grandchildren 13 Great-Grandchildren
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Lloyd in 2003, and two sisters, Josephine and Velma.
Funeral Services for Fern Browning will be were held Monday morning, December 20, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at the Venango Community Church with Rev. Bill Beard officiating. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Fern’s Memory.
