    Fannie Mae Pulliam

    February 20, 1918 - January 31, 2012

    Fannie Mae Pulliam Fannie Mae Pulliam was born to Fred and Florence (Breeden) Guthrie in Amagon, Arkansas on February 20, 1918. The family moved to the Balch, Arkansas area when Fannie was very young. Fannie married Loyd George Pulliam, in Balch, Arkansas, June 26th, 1936. They lived and farmed at Balch until 1988 when they moved to China, Texas to be near their son, Maurice, and daughter-in-law, Mildred, after Loyd became ill. They lived there until Loyd's death in 1990 at which time Fannie moved to Imperial, NE to be with her daughter, Genindle, and son-in-law Bill Lewis. She lived in Imperial until September, 2006 when she moved to the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, NE where she resided until her death. Fannie was a homemaker and helper to her husband's farming. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and loved to cook for people and really enjoyed cooking for her family and anyone in the community who needed food. Fannie passed away Tuesday January 31, 2012 at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, NE. She was 93 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loyd, son Maurice, brothers: Eugene, Edward, Howard, Hubert, Roy, Loyd, Floyd and Lester Guthrie; sisters: Mildred Guthrie, Ruth Thornton and Lois Sutherland. She is survived by daughter, Genindle Lewis and husband Bill, daughter-in-law Mildred Pulliam, 5 grandchildren : Dalene (Lewis) Rogers and husband Bob of Wray. CO, Doug Lewis of Littleton, CO, Jeff Lewis and wife Angela of Imperial, NE, Trina (Pulliam) Bivens of Nederland, TX and Tony Pulliam and wife Mary of Vidor, TX, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Fannie Pulliam will be held Saturday February 4, 2012, 10:00 a.m. (CT) at the Amagon, Arkansas Midway Church of Christ with Llano Robinson, David Howard, and grandson Tony Pulliam officiating. Interment will follow at the Balch Cemetery, Balch, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Friday February 3, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. (CT) at the Jackson Funeral Home, Newport, Arkansas.
