Ella Mae (Powell) Hust passed away peacefully on September 18, 2012 at the Golden Ours Nursing Home in Grant, Nebraska. She was 91.
Born on July 23, 1921 in Porter, Oklahoma to Earl and Mabel Ray. Her mother passed away shortly thereafter. She spent her childhood in Moberly, Missouri
Ella Mae was married to Sterling Powell on September 24, 1943 in Grant and moved to Imperial in 1961. That union was blessed with two children, Dennis and Phyllis. Sterling passed away in February 1981.
Ella Mae married Roy Hust on November 28, 1984. Roy passed away in April 1998.
Ella Mae was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Imperial. Ella Mae was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and held the office of Worthy Matron.
Ella Mae enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding her in death were husbands Sterling Powell and Roy Hust, parents, Earl and Mabel Ray, sisters Earlene, Lois and Mildred and brothers Russell and Gene.
Survivors include her children Dennis and wife Karen Powell of Ogallala and Phyllis and husband Jerry Hettinger of Denver, Colorado and step-son Byron and wife Marilyn Hust of Imperial.
Grandchildren include Tim and Rolanda Powell of Kenesaw, NE, Tricia and Mark Kubik of Aurora, NE, Cara and Todd Billings of Castle Rock, CO, Deb and Joe Hrcka of Imperial NE, LuRae and Mike Hagen of Madrid, NE and Wes of Dubois, WY.
Great-grandchildren include Kaylee and Alex Kubik and Emelie and Carson Billings.
Funeral Services for Ella Mae (Powell) Hust will be held Saturday morning, September 22, 2012, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at the United Methodist Church of Imperial, with Pastor Valera Heydenberk officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE.
Visitation will be held Friday Afternoon, September 21, 2012, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home In Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Ella Mae’s name for the Alzheimer’s Association.
