Donna Gibb
Donna Raye (Johnson) Gibb was born November 5, 1945, to Irvin Franklin and Verna Doris Cranwell) Johnson in Sterling, Colorado. Donna grew up south of Lamar, Nebraska, on her parents’ farm. She graduated from Chase County High School in 1964.
On October 24, 1965, Donna married James Dale Gibb and to this union their one son, Jamie, was born. Donna attended college in Sterling, Colorado, where she studied to become a licensed vocational nurse. After graduation, Donna worked at the Chase County Community Hospital and at T-Junction before retiring. In her free time, Donna enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing, crafting, decorating her home, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Donna passed away Friday morning, June 29, 2018, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 72 years of age.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband James, parents Irvin and Verna Johnson, and father-in-law Dale Gibb.
Survivors include:
Son: Jamie Gibb of Holdrege, NE.
Grandson: Dylan Gibb and wife Tiana of Hildreth, NE.
Granddaughter: Jordan Haarberg and husband Ethan of Kearney, NE.
Sister: Cynthia Hudgins and husband Jack of Texarkana, AR.
Brother: Barry Johnson of North Platte, NE.
Mother-in-law: Thelma Gibb of Holdrege, NE.
Brothers-in-law: Rick Gibb and wife Roxie of Atlanta, NE; and Raymond Gibb and wife Kathy of Oxford, NE.
Sisters-in-law: Jan Roberts of Holdrege, NE; and Joyce Gibb of Holdrege, NE.
Many nieces and nephews.
Graveside inurnment services for Donna will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 10:30 a.m. (MT) at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Nebraska, with Pastor David Kahle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Donna’s memory.
