Dennis Strand
Dennis Leroy Strand was born February 20, 1952, to Henry E. and Geraldine (Lakey) Strand, at Holyoke, Colorado. Dennis attended school in Venango, Nebraska, graduating from Venango High School in 1970. He then continued his education attending Kearney State College and had many fond memories of playing sports with his brothers.
Dennis married Penny Lou Ambler on December 30th, 1989, in Imperial, Nebraska, and the couple settled in Merna, Nebraska, where Penny was teaching school. Dennis was employed at the John Deere Dealership in Merna for a short time before the couple moved to the family farm in Northwest Chase County. He and his family then moved into Imperial, in 2001. Dennis farmed with H.E. Strand and Sons until his health prevented him from doing what he loved.
Dennis loved farming, playing cards, boating, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed following his children and their activities. Dennis was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie #3472 of Imperial.
Dennis passed away early Monday morning, April 4th, 2016, at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial. He was 64 years of age.

Wayne Strand and wife, Agnes, of Imperial, NE
Mother-In-Law: Pat Ambler of Gothenburg, NE
Sisters-In-Law: Ann Strand of Imperial, NE
Polly Peterson and husband, Mark, of Miles City. MT
Brother-In-law: Lennie Ambler of Lexington, NE

Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Henry and Geraldine, brother: Gerald, and father-In-Law: Jim Ambler, and Grandparents.
A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening, April 5th, 2016, 7:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz leading.
Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Strand will be Wednesday morning, April 6th, 2016, 10:00 A.M. (Mountain Time) at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz celebrating.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon, April 5th, 2016, from 2:00-6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association in Dennis’ name.
