    May 22, 1925 - July 23, 2016

    Corrine Blair Corrine Eloise (Jessee) Blair was born May 22, 1925, in rural Dundy County, Nebraska, to Robert B. and Mable E. (Smidt) Jessee. As a young girl she attended country school and went on to graduate from Benkelman High School in 1942 Corrine married Boyd Emmons Blair, Jr. on September 8, 1946, in Benkelman. The couple settled on a farm Northwest of Benkelman and pursued a lifelong career in farming. Corrine and Boyd retired and moved to Benkelman in 1982. She made the Hester Memorial Home her residence in 2013, when her health failed. Corrine enjoyed baking, flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting, ceramics, and volunteering. She especially loved to spend time with her family. She was employed for several years as a high school secretary and worked for the Home Health Aid Company. Corrine was very active in the Benkelman community serving as president of the United Methodist Women, Worth Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Bethel Guardian of Job’s daughters, a 4-H leader, and a Benkelman City Council member. She was recognized with the Benkelman “Good Guy” Award and for her volunteering at the Hester Memorial Home. Corrine was also a 81 year member of the United Methodist Church. Corrine passed away Saturday evening, July 23rd, 2016 at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman. She was 91 years of age. Survivors Include: Sons: Larry Blair and wife, Lana, of Shreveport, LA Thomas Blair and wife, Rosemary, of Benkelman, NE Don Blair and wife, Joyce, of Benkelman, NE Daughter: Janet Olmstead and husband, Craig, of Mountain Home, AR 6 Grandchildren: Jill (Blair) Kesten and husband Richard, Janee (Blair) Alaniz and husband Joe, Matthew Blair and Katherine Macanufo, Sheree Blair and Dave Durbin, Brandon Blair and wife Holly and Brian Blair and wife Alison. 14 Great-Grandchildren: Jacob and Cameron Kesten, Hyaden, Cameron, Colton, Kai and Kaeli Durbin; Britan, Bronson, Brody, Bond, Brennan, Alli Blair and Baby Blair due in October She was preceded in death by her parents, and Husband, Boyd. Funeral Services were held Wednesday Afternoon, July 27th, 2016, 2:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church of Benkelman, with Pastor Richard Savage officiating.
