Connie Marlene Burns was born to Ivan Alan and Donna Marie (Erdman) Schneider on May 17, 1945 in Benkelman, Nebraska. She graduated from high school from St. Francis, Kansas. Connie was married to Edward Raymond Burns of Max, Nebraska.
She had many interests and hobbies, all of which she excelled at. Connie enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and sewing clothes and anything that needed mending. She was also an avid gardener; Connie spent countless hours tending her many gardens and canning her produce. In addition to sewing and gardening, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed craft making; she made many miscellaneous items for her children and grandchildren.
Connie made homes in Max, Nebraska, Great Bend, Kansas and Hastings, Nebraska. She passed away August 5th, 2015 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. She was 70 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Donna Schneider.
Survivors include, sons: David Horton and wife, Dawn of Hoisington, KS; Robert Horton of Great Bend, KS and Anthony Horton of Trenton, NE; daughters: Yvonne and Adrian Goebel of Great Bend, KS and Jenine Spurrier and husband, Elmer of Harvard, NE; 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; brothers and sisters, Rick, Marshall, Barry, Tina and Julie Schneider.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 10th, 2015, 2:00 P.M. (MT) at the Benkelman Community Building, Benkelman, Nebraska, with Rev. Larry Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at the Eden Rural Cemetery, Wauneta, NE.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, August 9th, 2015, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the Benkelman Community Building, Benkelman, NE.
A memorial has been established in Connie’s memory.
