Betty Jane Jennings was born to Carl and Emma Richardson on February 23, 1936, at St. Francis, Kansas. Betty’s mother died when she was only two years old, and she was sent to live with an Aunt and Uncle until she graduated from Bird City High School. Betty then met the love of her life, Howard Dee Jennings and the couple where married on May 29, 1959, in Oberlin, Kansas. Betty and Howard lived in Oberlin until moving to Imperial, Nebraska, in 1972.
Betty was employed for several years at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home where she met friends, which she continued to have until the day she died. Those were her happiest days. In the mid 1980’s, she developed diabetes and struggled with it almost daily.
Betty was a member of the Lutheran Churches in Oberlin, Kansas, as well as Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. Her main hobby in life was loving and taking care of everyone around her. She also loved to read and of course cooking.
Betty passed away Thursday, August 16th at the Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter, TX. Betty was 76 years of age.
Survivors Include: Daughter: Lora Jane Rider and Husband, Steve, of Corinth, TX. 4 Grandchildren: Stacy Jennings, Dana Rider, Melissa Zackowski and Husband, Justin, and Vanessa Rider 3 Great-Grandchildren: Trevor Zackowski, Samantha Zackowski, and Henrick Rider
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Husband; Howard, earlier this year, Son; Lynn Dean Jennings, and Brother; Frank Richardson.
Memorial Services for Betty Jennings were held Saturday, August 25, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial
No Visitation, Betty Chose Cremation
