Alberta Marie (Parde) Long was born April 27, 1928, to Henry R. and Ann Louise (Roschewski) Parde at Stratton, Nebraska. As a young girl she was baptized and attended parochial school at St. Paul Lutheran Church and school, rural Wauneta, Nebraska.
Alberta married Marion C. Long on August 28, 1944, at St Francis, Kansas, and to this union five children were born, Jimmie, David, Linda, Timothy, and Diane. The couple lived in Wauneta, Nebraska, for a short time before moving to Salem, Oregon. Alberta completed her education and gained employment with the Oregon State Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She retired after 30 years all the while raising her children and assisting in the raising of her grandchildren.
Alberta and Marion loved to travel and visit family, especially the Bartel’s Clan. Alberta enjoyed art projects, painting flowers, birds, and many different animals. Reading was another hobby along with golfing and bowling in the younger years. Alberta also enjoyed visiting casinos with all of hustle and bustle and their good food.
Alberta was ornery, not taking much guff, giving the business right back to someone with a twinkle in her eye. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be truly missed.
Alberta passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center. She was 92 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marion of 65 years, sons; Jimmie, David and Timothy, daughter; Linda, sisters; Marjorie Neverve and Virginia Sandman.

7 Grandchildren: Mark Ogden, Tony Ogden, Donna Long, Mike Long, Tina Barnard, Jacob Long and, Trinna Long
12 Great-Great-Grandchildren: Daniel Long, Emily Long, Page Long, Lane Long, Shanel Long, Britney Long, Josh Lee Barnard, Betheny Long, Morgan Long, Justin Long, Hana Lee Ogden, Hunter Ogden.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning, July 7, 2020, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at St. Paul Lutheran Church of rural Wauneta, NE., with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE.
Visitation will be held before services on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, starting at 8:30 A.M. (Mountain Time)
Memorials have been suggested to the Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department and the Wauneta EMT Unit.
