Fred Goings

Fred Allen Goings was born April 4, 1939 to Floyd and Sophia (Kerchal) Goings, in Imperial, Nebraska. He attended school in Wauneta, and graduated high school with the class of 1958.

He was joined in marriage to Marilyn Kay Bacon on July 15, 1967 in Imperial. The couple settled north of Wauneta, where Fred farmed and ranched for 45 years. Farming, ranching and cattle were both Fred’s hobby and life work.

Fred passed away Friday morning, February 8, 2013 at the Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. He was 73 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Velma Hromas, LaVina Bardsley and Karen Williams; and daughter-in-law Mindi Goings.

Survivors Include: Wife: Marilyn Kay Goings of Wauneta Son: Robert F. Goings of Wauneta Grandchildren Gunner Allen and GraCee Elisabeth Goings of Wauneta Brother: Dennis Goings and wife, Colleen of Elsie, NE Brother-in-law Richard Bardsley of Wauneta Nieces and Nephews

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning, February 13, 2013, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Bonnie McCord officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 12th, 2013, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Wauneta.

A memorial has been established in Fred’s memory.
