Lorraine Stenson

Lorraine Maxine Stenson was born December 14, 1924, in Chase County, Nebraska, to Loren C. and Blanche A. (Thompson) Drumm. As a young girl, she attended country grade school and Chase County High School.

On November 15, 1944, Lorraine married John Robert Stenson and to this union a son, Lyle, and a daughter, Diana, were born. Lorraine and John lived several years in this area before making McMinnville, Oregon their home. In later years, Lorraine divided her time between her home in Oregon and Ogallala, Nebraska. In 2007 she moved to Janesville, Wisconsin, to be close to her son Lyle. In 2010 she moved to Imperial to be near her sister Freda.

Lorraine had many hobbies including sewing and stamp and coin collecting. She also loved to fish.

Lorraine passed away early Sunday morning, January 13, 2013, at the Chase County Hospital, Imperial, Nebraska. Lorraine was 88 years of age.

Survivors Include: Son: Lyle and wife Doris of Janesville, WI. 3 Grandchildren: Allen and wife Chris, Robert and wife Amy, Steve and wife Brianna. 6 Great-Grandchildren. Local Niece: Velma Criswell and husband Kenny of Yuma, Colorado. Numerous other nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, daughter Diana, and seven sisters: Arabell, Freda, Lillian, Edith, Lucile, Velma and Twilla.

Memorial services for will be held Thursday afternoon, January 17, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at Liewer Funeral Home, Imperial, NE, with Rev. Phil Harris officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Lorraine’s memory.
